Who We Are

Artificial Oceans is a Post-Metalcore group from Asheville, NC formed in February 2015. After self-releasing their first EP entitled “Principia,” they supported the release through regional tours, performing in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Using a combination of touring and a strong social media focus, this generated enough buzz for “Principia” to land in the top 10 on an Australian metal radio station for new unsigned bands. The band took the winter season to write their follow-up EP, which began production in January 2018. This EP, entitled “Distance,” is set for release in July 2018.  

AO has successfully worked to create and promote events with high turnouts. These venues include The Orange Peel, The Mothlight, Ground Zero, Shaka’s Live, and more. They have also had the honor of being supporting acts for Born of Osiris (Sumerian Records), My Enemies & I (Fearless Records), Fit for a King (Solid State Records), Gideon (Equal Vision Records), and Currents (SharpTone Records).
